One of the first questions we get from Dublin homeowners is a very fair one: "how long will it actually take?" The honest answer is that it depends on the house — but there's a normal pattern most jobs follow, and once you know it, planning your week becomes a lot easier.
Step one is the survey. We come out, measure every opening, chat about styles, colours and finishes, and give you a clear written quote. That visit usually takes 30–60 minutes for a full-house job, or 15–20 minutes for a single door or window.
Step two is the manufacturing lead time. Once you approve the quote and pay a deposit, your windows or door are made to your exact measurements. In Dublin at the moment, that typically takes 2–4 weeks. Bespoke colours, timber frames and specialist glass can add a week or two on top.
Step three is the fit. A single door replacement is usually done in half a day. A single window replacement is often done in an hour or two. A full-house replacement of 8–10 windows plus a front and back door usually takes 1–3 days, working room by room so your house is never fully open to the weather.
Step four is the tidy-up and sign-off. We seal, silicone, touch up reveals where needed, take away every scrap of old material, and walk you around the work before we leave. If anything needs adjusting a week or two later — a hinge tweak or a fresh silicone bead — we come back and sort it.
So end-to-end for a full house, plan for roughly 3–5 weeks from your first phone call to the last unit being fitted. For a single window or door repair or replacement, it's often days rather than weeks.
